Amid the warm air and scenic adventures of summer, it’s important to maintain our well-being while adapting to our body’s needs (which also change with the seasons). During the summer, cooling, detoxifying, stimulating and uplifting herbs can help us shine like the sun!
These are my must-have WishGarden formulas that help me feel vital and ready for whatever adventure summer brings me:
- Chlorophyll and friends: This is my favorite summer formula. Chlorophyll, the green pigment in plants, plays a crucial role in their symbolic relationship with the sun. It acts as a radiation receptor as it absorbs energy from the sun and facilitates photosynthesis. It also supports our body immensely. It provides nutrients, detoxification benefits, digestive support, energy support and vitality. It also contains peppermint, so it’s super cooling and refreshing on hot days. I put a few doses in my water bottle and drink it all day.
- Kick-Ass Allergy: This one is a given. How can anyone enjoy their summer days while suffering from a histamine attack? I keep a few bottles of these in handy places; my bag, my car and my hiking backpack. The best part is that it works quickly, so when I’m on the road and my eyes start to itch and it’s hard to breathe, I know I’ll have relief in 10-15 minutes.
- Get up and energize: When the days get really warmer, I try to get up early to beat the heat and crowds on hiking trails or paddle boarding on the lake. I use this formula to wake up quickly and energize my body and mind, especially when I don’t want the jitters or dehydration that comes with coffee or energy drinks.
- Practice and revive: For post bike rides, gym sessions and walks, this formula helps minimize recovery time between my workouts and activities. It supports a healthy inflammatory response and muscle and joint health. It can be used before and/or after any activity.
- Party preparation: For BBQs, concerts and late nights around the campfire, this is my go-to when I know pampering is on the menu! Party Prep supports healthy and efficient alcohol metabolism. But it also supports healthy liver and kidney function in general, so even if you don’t drink alcohol, it can help you enjoy sugary foods or other not-so-healthy treats.
