Part of a Whole

In TCM we often talk about people who are part of the interconnected whole – the web of life – that includes all the creations of nature, from the smallest ants to the cosmos itself. This quote from Albert Einstein calls on us to understand the simplicity and complexity of all this.

“A person is a part of a whole, called by us,” Universe “, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest … A kind of optical failure of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, to broaden us and the whole nature in his beauty.” – Albert Einstein. “

We are really a small part of the larger whole. We, ourselves, are Qi – the living, respiratory energy that animates and connects with all other beings, and the sun, moon and stars. As soon as we consider our bodies, thoughts and emotions as Qi, we also start seeing everything around us as Qi. In this vision we are one in the same and we share this earthly house for the time we get. And as Einstein shares, it is our role to embrace all living creatures, so that we can experience the true beauty of nature.
