If you were asked to write down everything you asked your body to digest over the past four days, could you do it? After a long day, most of us have a hard time remembering what we ate for breakfast, let alone everything (food, drinks, medicine, etc.) over the course of four days. But even if your mind doesn’t remember, your body does.
Science tells us it lasts an average of four days complete digest, process and eliminate everything you ingest. During those four days, everything you ingest is processed by the entire body. So if you feel sluggish a few days after a snack binge, it may not have completely cleared your system.
In addition to everything that goes into our mouths, our bodies also digest all our emotions. Become aware of how you feel after a carbohydrate binge or an emotionally draining event. Does your body respond with bloating, heartburn, or anxiety?
Don’t take this as a sign to deny yourself your desires! You always want to listen to your body’s messages. All desires are energetic messages from the body. Instead, use this as a tool to gain awareness and help you recognize your own patterns.
