Everyone experiences imbalance. In many people it manifests as illness and disease. But there are different ways to look at health. We must go to the level of Qi to go beyond illness and disease and discover life.
Balance and harmony are the keys to health and happiness. Focusing on health means understanding the power behind the invisible and how it manifests.
What is Qi?
Qi has four levels: power, information, consciousness and universal life. Power is energy. Do you have the energy to walk, talk, think clearly, take on new tasks and feel strong? Do you look good and can you stand up straight? These are forms of power.
Behind power lies information. The information comes from your genetic code and nature. It’s who you are, where you are, when you are. For example, you may be in a stage of life where emotions are stressful. This information affects your power.
The third level is consciousness: the wisdom behind Qi and what makes it so unique. It’s not mental processing, or what your mind thinks. It has a purpose. An artist makes music that can make you happy or sad, or make you want to dance. During the holidays, family and friends come together to share not only a meal, but also the consciousness of gratitude.
Fourth is universal life. When you say you have Qi, it means you have universal life within you. Your body is the physical image or sign of Universal life. When you practice Qigong, Universal life flows through your body. All of Chinese medicine defines a human being as Universal Qi combined with earth energy manifesting to create a human being. Universal life flows through you. You are part of nature. You are part of the universe. Nothing is separate.
Applying Qi to Women’s Health
The four parts of Qi allow us to see a deeper system at work. This gift of transformation can be applied in many different areas to create emotional and physical balance. The menstrual cycle represents this image on another level. From this perspective we can understand more about a woman’s special ability to transform Qi.
The menstrual cycle is a natural system that follows the laws of nature. Once a month, a woman’s body manifests the energy needed to turn Qi into blood. The invisible becomes visible. Think about all this energy processing. Women transform a lot of energy in their lives. Although Blood is released, it continues to renew itself every month with the support of nature.
Your menstrual cycle can be one of the best ways to know how healthy you are. Pain, headaches, lower back pain and other symptoms are signs that your body is not meeting the requirements of the Natural Law. It is a natural way to know if your body is okay or needs an adjustment.
When you become pregnant, your system transforms to the next level, allowing other systems to function and preparing your body to create a new organ, the placenta, and to digest and produce milk from food. You get the best quality Qi from any food to nourish life.
In traditional Chinese medicine, menstruation is called the lunar cycle. The moon is also associated with the invisible category and can help us see the relationships behind women’s health. Blood is associated with water. The Earth is made up of 70 percent water, and so is the human body. Every full moon
affects the water on earth. The body responds in a similar way. Qi is associated with both the visible and the invisible. Both categories can be used to diagnose and understand what level of body health needs to be addressed.
Menopause is the end of the menstrual cycle and is part of the natural menopause system built into a woman’s body. Hot flashes, night sweats, palpitations and fatigue are not necessary. A healthy body will go through this transition naturally, smoothly and without any symptoms, if this is in accordance with the laws of nature.
