Question: What does it mean to be on a spiritual path and how does that relate to health and healing?

A: I see many patients who believe they are on a spiritual path. They go to church or synagogue, or they do yoga or meditate faithfully every day. I ask them if they are ‘on’ a spiritual journey or ‘on’ a journey. What’s the difference? There is actually a big difference. This belief helps me open a new angle so they can recognize that their health issues come from a much deeper level of their being.

I ask my patients how much time they spend on spiritual things. How long do they practice yoga or Taiji, pray or meditate? They usually answer for one or maybe two hours a day. So what about the other 22 to 23 hours? What happens during the time you’re not exercising, meditating, praying, singing, or doing other spiritual things? During those hours, are you still living in a way that honors your beautiful Spirit?

When you are on If it’s a spiritual journey, it can feel like a destination, something you’re going to or hope to arrive at one day. But if you are in a spiritual journey, lived, embodied and happening now. The journey is not separate from your daily life; It is your daily life. Being on the path asks, “How do I get there?” Being in the journey demands, “How do I live my daily life?”

Spirit in healing

One of the most difficult things to understand is the role of the Spirit in the healing process. When we are not facing major life decisions or involved in major issues that test our souls, many of us consider ourselves spiritual people. However, when we are faced with the chaos of life, experience tragedies or serious health problems, or are simply overwhelmed by daily tasks, we need to turn inward and reflect on a few questions:

  • How much of my Spirit am I connected to in my darkest moments?
  • How deeply do I let my Spirit touch and support me in these difficult times?
  • How deep is my faith, trust, and conviction that events are guided by my Spirit?

Although many people are interested in spirituality, most are focused on things in the material world. It is very difficult to escape even for a short time and hear what our hearts have to say and become peaceful enough to connect with something beyond our five senses.

To coordinate

Think of how many messages you receive every day about what’s for sale, what car to drive, and how to “ask your doctor” about taking medications for certain conditions. Unfortunately, the culture is usually stronger than you. The invisible is more powerful than the visible. But if you never focus on the unseen – or “turn on the right channel,” so that the culture has less impact on your whole self – how can you truly grow and change?

My suggestion is to take it a little slower. Take the time to look at yourself. Discover how to use your mind to process information and create beliefs. Changing beliefs is a shortcut to true healing. It is difficult to fully receive messages from your inner self, your intuition, or even your dreams, when every thought is consumed by why, how, when, or how much. Once you ask why, another why always comes up. Like a three-year-old, our minds want to know more and more, and can’t stop asking why, but do we do something with the information? Once the questions start, there is essentially no end to the questioning. All religions try to help us understand that real questions must come from the heart. Otherwise, they come from a desire to nourish the mind. This is one of the reasons why I recommend that my patients meditate regularly.

Even if your intention is to receive information from a higher source, it is not easy because the functioning of the mind can limit you. If you are willing to continue our quantum journey, then you must prepare for it. The nature of this preparation is different from that which we undertake in the material world. Let’s use this simple example. It obviously makes a difference whether or not you camp on the beach or go skiing in the mountains. You prepare differently for every trip. You can’t take GPS or your knowledge or intellect with you. There is no set path. In spiritual reality everything is possible. Here life takes place from moment to moment. There are no plans.

There are also no guides. Can you really understand the complexity and richness of New York City just by reading a guidebook or listening to a tour guide? Probably not. You have to experience the magic of the city yourself. In the same way, you must experience the spiritual world yourself. Faith, trust and faith are essential to this journey. What should we have confidence in? Each of us has a different idea of what the invisible world of Spirit looks like and how to interpret it. Each of us also has our own understanding of love: what it is, what it can do, and how it relates to life.

Three main concepts

There are three main spiritual concepts for improving metabolic function and health. They are:

  1. The energetic frequency of the unconditional love of the Universe, or God, gives our world and all living things vitality and creativity.
  2. Ultimately there is only Unity.
  3. There are no accidents. Everything happens for a reason.
