What are pinworms?
Does your child have worms? The most common type of worms in children are pinworms. This article will only discuss how to get rid of pinworms in children using simple home remedies.
Children between the ages of five and ten are the most likely age group to get worms. A sign that your child may have pinworms is if your child complains of an itchy rectum. The pain is often most severe at night, because this is when the worms come out of the anus to lay their eggs.
Even though it sounds horrible, it doesn’t actually hurt the child that much. Rarely, serious health problems occur as a result of a pinworm infection.
Pinworms are caused by eating unsanitary foods and sleeping on a bed with sheets that may contain pinworm eggs. Make sure you cook and clean your food completely before feeding your children.
Also make sure you clean your linens regularly, and if you go to hotels, make sure the sheets have been changed recently.
Many children who get pinworms show no symptoms. As I said before, the itchy rectum is the most common symptom. Fortunately, pinworms rarely travel further than the anus, so the rest of your child’s body should be safe from the worms.
If you can actually see the worms on your child or in the stool, you should take him to the doctor for proper treatment. If things haven’t gotten to that point yet, here are some simple natural home remedies that may help.
