Do You Have a Heart Wall Up?

There may have been times in your own life when you have felt that physical sensation we call “heartache.” This feeling of pressure or discomfort in the chest and throat can occur when someone hurts us or when we have a deep sense of sadness or loss. I believe that the heart is actually the core of our being, just as the ancients believed. And I think the spirit inside us doesn’t like this feeling. I believe that if you have this experience more than a few times in your life, your subconscious mind can form an “energy wall” to protect your heart from further heartache. We call this wall of energy the ‘Heart Wall’.

People who have been abused or neglected in early childhood, or by partners in unhealthy relationships, often develop a kind of protective shield that prevents them from loving other people on a conscious level. I coined the term ‘Heart-Wall’ for this widespread condition.

A heart wall® can form when the energy of one or more unresolved emotions becomes ‘trapped’ around the heart. A Heart-Wall is your body’s attempt to protect your fragile heart. When this energetic barrier of trapped emotions forms, it can keep us from feeling hurtful, negative emotions so deeply.

Having a Heart Wall can make it difficult to give and receive love. You may not be able to feel positive emotions as deeply, such as happiness, gratitude, empathy, and more. It can cause feelings of loneliness, isolation and sadness, as well as physical health problems. If you answer yes to any of the following questions, this may indicate the presence of a Heart-Wall:

8 questions to help determine if you have a heart wall

  1. Have you been emotionally hurt in the past?
  2. Have you felt an emotional heaviness in your heart, as if your heart was breaking?
  3. Do you feel like you can’t fully experience joy or happiness?
  4. Do you have trouble connecting with others?
  5. Is it difficult for you to connect romantically with your partners?
  6. Do you feel closed off to love?
  7. Do you often feel lonely or isolated from the people around you?
  8. Do you feel heaviness or discomfort in your chest, neck, or shoulders?

Heart Walls can be identified through self-testing and removed by following the charts in The Emotion Code, or by working with a certified physician. After performing a Heart-Wall, many clients report that they can feel love and joy more deeply – sometimes for the first time in years.

I believe the most important thing you can do for yourself is to get rid of the trapped negative emotions that may be creating a wall around your heart. The Emotion Code® is the only way I know to do this. It is easy for anyone to learn, without prior training. I believe that letting go of Trapped Emotions is permanent and works for all ages. By helping people shed their emotional baggage, we can help them gain the potential to become stronger—to become who God intends them to be.
