The Five Element Consciousness Framework is an old network of mutual relationships. It helps us to understand the relationships and connections in nature and in our own bodies. The liver is, for example, the order in the spring. During this time of the year, the landscape regains its color while trees bloom and colorful flowers burst open with energy. Lever connects with the wood element. Just like a tree whose roots are fed by the earth, liver energy likes to keep outside. The earth element is governed by the stomach. In the body the liver and the stomach have a very close relationship. If the liver does not function as it should, the digestive system becomes slow.

Just as everything is connected in nature, everything in our body is also connected. While we switch from winter to spring, supporting the liver will help us make a smooth transition to spring, without suffering from spring allergies. If liver Qi flows freely, your emotions also do! At a raised level, the liver can also better support the stomach, which reduces digestive problems.

Let trees be your guide

Take a signal from nature! Observe a tree during a windstorm. Does it fight nature and try to stay quietly quiet? No. The tree remains firmly rooted in the ground, but it moves freely in the wind. It is flexible and able to “go with the power”. That free form, flexible movement is characteristic of the liver. The liver helps you flow through life with a freer mind. Taking care of liver function is essential for real emotional and physical health.

The liver is strongly influenced by stress. Stress replaces emotional flexibility with frustration and anger. Although it is difficult to completely avoid stress, learning helps to go with the power, helping you to search the information with which you are bombed a minute to minute. The realization that everything for a reason happens allows you to drop worries and fear and replace the thought of how things are ‘supposed to be’ with a more flexible mindset.

Make a long, slow walk in the forest on the next fun day. Allow the beauty of the new leaves and the healing warmth of the sun, penetrate your entire being. See how the trees are so effortless, so freely flow. Then imagine that you are like a tree. Move in a smooth, flexible way. Be free! Go with the power! Never let anything stop you from expressing yourself freely.

Spring renewal

Spring is just around the corner. With the equinox that soon approaches, it is time to join nature in its renewed growth and creativity.
