Finding a sense of community can be a challenge in today’s fast-paced world.
At The Sound Healing Academy our Personal sound healing workshops provide a unique opportunity for people to come together, share experiences and form strong community bonds. Through the power of sound, we not only promote personal well-being, but also cultivate a sense of connection and unity among participants.
To belong Siobhan Zwederone of our British teachers from Brighton, talks to us in this blog about how her students create a vibrant community during her sound healing workshops and beyond!
The power of sound healing
Sound healing is an ancient practice that uses various instruments and vocal techniques to create vibrations and frequencies that promote physical, emotional, mental and spiritual healing.
These sound waves interact with the body’s cells and energy fields, promoting relaxation, reducing stress, and promoting a sense of peace and harmony. The healing power of sound comes from its ability to work on and outside the body, combining deep, physical vibrations at specific points on the body with transformative sound of the body.
Both on-body and off-body techniques allow us to develop session plans to help clients achieve mental and physical healing. As a result, we can use the healing power of sound to facilitate a healing outcome while supporting individuals on their journey, and this is exactly what our students learn during their sound healing workshops with us!
Why be part of our Sound Healing Workshops
Creating a space for connection
Bee The Sound Healing Academy, our in-person workshops are designed to create a safe and nurturing environment in which participants can express themselves openly and connect with others. From the moment visitors enter, they are welcomed into a community that values empathy, support and mutual respect.
Shared experiences
One of the most powerful aspects of our workshops is the shared experience of sound healing. As participants participate in group drumming, singing, and listening to therapeutic soundscapes, they naturally form connections with those around them. The collective experience of sound creates a bond that transcends words and fosters a deep sense of community.
Group activities and exercises
Our workshops include various group activities that promote collaboration and mutual support. For example, during a group drumming session, participants must work together to create a cohesive rhythm, learning to listen and respond to each other. These activities promote the healing process and build trust and camaraderie among participants!
Personal stories and testimonials
Many of our workshop participants have shared how their experiences during their Sound Healing workshop have helped them feel more connected to others.

Experienced teachers
Our skilled teachers play a crucial role in fostering a sense of community during our Sound Healing workshops. They guide participants through the course with compassion and expertise, creating an inclusive atmosphere in which everyone feels valued. They also encourage students to share their experiences and insights, further strengthening the sense of belonging within the group.
Ongoing support
The sense of community fostered in our workshops often extends beyond the sessions themselves. Many participants stay in touch and form lasting friendships and support networks. Many participants also find community within The Sound Healing Academy Facebook group or a group that can be formed with students within a workshop. This allows students to continue their journey together and strengthen their bonds!
A taste of our personal workshops with Siobhan
The connection between sound healing and community bonding lies in the shared experience of sound and the collective journey towards healing.
Sound uniquely brings people together, breaks down barriers and promotes a sense of unity. When students participate in a Sound Healing workshop, they work on their well-being and contribute to the collective energy of the group. Let’s see what Siobhan has to say about this!
Can you describe how sound healing catalyzes connection and community building in your workshops?
“Well, as we know, we are all vibrating beings, and when we hear pure, powerful and soothing sounds from different instruments like Tibetan singing bowlsgongs, tuning forks, crystal singing bowlsdrums and the magic of our voices, we begin to connect with something deeper within, which is our essence.
From this place there is almost an inner knowing that we are all connected and one. When we connect to that vibrational state of peace and love through sound, it begins to create a sense of connection and community. Almost a feeling of coming home!”
What specific activities or exercises do you use during your Sound Healing workshops to promote a sense of community among participants?
“During my sound healing workshops, I use many exercises to promote a sense of community among participants.
In my example Workshop Multi Sound Healing level 1I love creating time for sessions, which is the art of listening and connecting. We first meditate to find heart and brain coherence and then connect with the instruments we use, for example the Tibetan singing bowls.
We then allow that heart energy to fill our instruments with love. From there we activate the bowls one by one, sending and transmitting this energy in a circle three times to create a sacred space. This practice allows students to really sink deep and listen to themselves and the instruments, which strengthens connection and community.”
Can you share a memorable experience where you witnessed the formation of strong bonds during a workshop?
“Absolutely! I witnessed strong community bonding in many workshops, especially during one of my workshops Diploma level 2 for groups.
This group of 15 beautiful souls bonded immediately! It was as if the universe had put this group together to raise their consciousness through sound. I paired people together to design their own sound baths, and each group created something that was not only beautiful to see and receive, but also unique, moving each student emotionally and spiritually.
This brought new insights and learning experiences, and above all it brought about an intense feeling of shared joy and love for each other.”
What is the biggest impact for your students when they attend an in-person workshop? We would like to hear your opinion on this.
“I truly believe that attending an in-person sound healing workshop is a huge benefit that builds a strong bond and sense of community.
My role as a teacher at SHA is to provide a safe, open and loving space where people feel they can share and express themselves, which can ultimately inspire the whole group!”
How do participants usually support and inspire each other during the workshops?
“Participants support and inspire each other by sharing how the healthy healing practices and meditations we create together impact all aspects of their being.
This encourages others to share their experiences, creating a sense of connection and coming together through sound and vibration.”
How does that grow into the broader community after your students engage with you during their workshop experience? Do they keep in touch/what happens?
“Yes absolutely! Many students like to keep in touch and share what they have discovered through sound healing on WhatsApp groups that I create for participants.
I had built such a beautiful, strong bond with one group that I decided to organize several gatherings to share sound and experiences, as well as a three-day sound healing retreat in Glastonbury as a kind of family reunion!”
Do you believe the connections you create during your workshops impact your students’ healing journey?
“I believe that a strong sense of community is created during the workshops, and that healing sounds, their vibrations and frequencies all strengthen this connection even more, because vibration underlies the fabric of the universe and who we all naturally are!”
