How many people feel like me right now?
I enjoy life, but am drawn to too many tasks that require my immediate attention. In addition, constant exposure to electromagnetic fields from computers and cell phones puts a strain on the gallbladder, ultimately leading to frustration. I think about how my liver and gallbladder respond to today’s busy lifestyle. Fortunately, I can draw on my Qigong practice, but in reality my body needs a break.
So under the guidance of Master Lu, I decided to come up with a one-week liver detox that simply embraces less is more.
Here’s my three-part plan:
- Food: For a week, maybe two, I follow a light eating plan using only the foods listed. This will ease my digestive system’s Qi expenditure and relax the liver/gall bladder.
- EMF: Next, I will reduce exposure to electromagnetic fields. Did you know that exposure to electromagnetic fields is like hitting your body with a lightning bolt? I will reduce my screen time by two hours per day. I will also choose one day to completely turn off my cell phone. That may be difficult, but I’ll try.
- Qigong: Going even deeper, I will honor my body’s need for Qi flow with a simple Qigong routine.
Is this enough? It’s a good start! Or in the words of the master: It’s better than nothing.
