The Organic & Natural Health Association (Organic & Natural Health) calls on the Senate Committee for Health, Education, Labor and Pensions and the Senate Finer Finnership Committee to support the appointment of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (HHS). The organization claims that HHS leadership must match the principles of transparency, accessibility, traceability and continuous quality improvement to stimulate meaningful health care reform.
The association asks the Senate for the nomination of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to endorse as HHS secretary.
“Serious change must take place if we have to tackle the underlying reasons for the epidemic of chronic health diseases. All votes must be evaluated and heard, “said Karen Howard, CEO and executive director of Organic & Natural Health. “Pharmaceutical products have done a lot to transform the health and well -being of people, but our system does not take into account the power of food, supplementation, lifestyle changes and consumer education.”
Organic & Natural Health states that the current health care system prioritizes disease treatment over prevention, so that the cost savings of proactive health measures are not recognized. Programs that prevent chronic diseases are only seen as costs, and nutritional supplements are not eligible for reimbursement under Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Savings Account (HSA) plans. The organization emphasizes shortcomings in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), with which no purchases of essential nutrients such as vitamin D3 or medical food for disease management. In addition, the lack of cooperation in the field of health factors, such as clean water, air quality and the use of pesticides, the need for reform.
“The financial model of our health care system is fundamentally inadequate,” said Howard. “There is no money to be made when learning people how to eat well, or in preventing diseases. Government budgets do not score savings of prevention strategies, only the costs of disease management. Real reform requires daring leadership that is committed to transparency and is willing to challenge the status quo. “
Organic & Natural Health also recognizes the intersection of the Ministry of Agriculture and HHS in shaping public health policy. The organization regards Kennedy’s leadership as crucial in promoting cooperation and tackling systemic challenges in health care and nutritional policy.
During the annual conference in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the organic and natural health organized the political strategist Dick Morris, a former adviser of President Bill Clinton and a consultant from President Donald Trump on 22 January. After a robust exchange of ideas with regard to improving the safety of agriculture and the food system, Morris emphasized the opportunities for the natural health industry within the new administration.
The organization will continue these discussions through its “Table of Truth” salon series, private dinner events that are held throughout the year in combination with large industrial conferences. These dinners will facilitate the dialogue between market leaders about transparency, supply chain integrity, environmental health and public policy, with the aim of promoting the responsibility of consumers and the business responsibility in health and well -being.
Organic & Natural Health is devoted to the stimulation of policy change that prioritizes to prevention, transparency and health of consumers. Industrial leaders, brands and organizations are invited to participate in the movement and to support this mission with https://organicandnatural.org.
