Routines: we all have them and they occur in all facets of life. Whether you wake up at 5 a.m. for the gym or stay in bed to wind down the day, routine can be incorporated in many ways. Most people’s routines look different than others, but we can all agree that it’s important to support our immune system every day. You know the basics: restorative sleep, quality food, and drinking lots of water—but how else can you support immune health on a daily basis? Be sure to incorporate immune-supporting herbal blends into your routine.

General immune support

Immunity is connected to every area of life and every system in the body. There are many ways to implement immune support actions into our routine. A great tool to add to your box is WishGarden Herb’s Kick-Ass Daily Immune. Kick-Ass Daily contains a multitude of herbs such as elderberry, astragalus, burdock, nettle, red clover and more. I especially appreciate this blend for its use of elderberries. Elderberry is a well-known and effective basic product to support the immune system. In addition to Daily Immune Builder, WishGarden has another formula called Kick-Ass Immune Activator. What makes Kick-Ass Daily different from Kick-Ass Immune is that the herbs in the Kick-Ass Daily blend support the immune response in a way that they do not. active the immune system is turned on, which is why it is safe to use long term as a tonic. Kick-Ass Immune Activator is for those times when you start to feel exhausted and need immunity activate spices. This is an important distinction. You don’t want the immune response to be constantly activated because in the long run you’ll generate more energy to keep the army fighting. Kick-Ass Daily is perfect for maintaining daily immune support – it’s the constant watchful eye.

Our immune system and the intestines

Did someone say food? I participate! One of the best aspects of life is a good meal! It’s often forgotten, but our digestive tract and immune system are best friends. They care for each other, and if one is balanced and healthy, you can expect the other to match that. The digestive tract and immune system work together in an innate immune response. As we know, our digestive tracts break down food into smaller pieces. What is less known is that our intestines are also an entry point for pathogens. The immune system’s job is to ensure that these pathogens do not overpopulate and make us sick. Because of the close relationship between these two systems, implementing herbs to support nutrient absorption benefits both gut and immune health.

One of my favorite ways to stimulate my digestive system after enjoying a delicious meal is by taking WishGarden’s Digestive Rescue GI Normalizer. This blend of herbs includes fennel, catnip, peppermint, and ginger, which are revered for being incredible gut savers. This formula is designed to soothe all common digestive problems such as heartburn, gas or bloating. In addition to providing immediate support, Digestive Rescue can also be used as a tonic. Digestive Rescue can be used to return the intestinal biome to homeostasis. Whether for long-term support or short-term relief, Digestive Rescue can be an easy gut and immune support addition to your daily routine.

Our immune system and catching some zzzz’s

One of the first things I think about when I think about what I can do to improve my energetic state is, “Am I getting enough sleep?” Sleep studies over the past decade have highlighted the importance of sleep for every system in the body. Not surprisingly, sleep provides essential support to the immune system. It helps support a balanced immune defense that stimulates adaptability to external irritants. Our defenses are activated when we experience allergic reactions, when illness begins to manifest itself or simply when we are thrown into a new environment. In other words: our immune system is under great pressure and must constantly adapt. So doing what we can to get enough sleep is a simple way to support its function. Restorative sleep stimulates cell repair and strengthens adaptive immunity. Yep, you may have to wrap up the party a little earlier than expected, but your body will thank you for letting it get into a restorative state. One of my favorite ways to support sleep is to use WishGarden’s Sleepy Nights formula. It contains restorative herbs such as hops, passionflower and skullcap, which are known to support deep, restful sleep.
