Every change starts with a single step. Regardless of the weight of that change, you must put one foot in front of the other to gain momentum and make progress. For example, if you want to change careers, you may need to update your resume, undergo additional training, and even move down a level or two to get onto your intended path. The same principle applies to your health and healing.
Often we focus on solving a ‘problem’, such as a digestive problem. But if your attention is focused solely on the stomach, you have only scratched the surface of the interrelationships that affect your digestive system and the functioning of your metabolism as a whole. Instead of focusing on solving a particular condition, look at your environment and your relationships. Take action to improve it. Make small change after small change. Do this for yourself – and not for anyone else – without the expectation of getting anything in return.
Cultivate a garden.
As you harvest the fruits and vegetables you have cared for, let this become the picture of your own spiritual and emotional growth.
Start eating for healing.
Little by little, start replacing fast food and cold salads with hot food and cooked vegetables. Continue gradually by cutting back on your meat and dairy products. Choose foods that provide maximum amount of Qi to support all your organs.
Discover your beliefs.
Look for ways to challenge your own mindset. Experiment with new ways of thinking and doing, and be open to different perspectives.
Make room for you.
Spend time every day making yourself feel beautiful. Energize yourself with Qigong exercises, sing in the shower or take a walk on the beach. During this time, all your focus should be on loving and growing yourself.
Live in the present.
Do something different today, something completely new and unexpected. How did that make you feel?
Be proud of the person you are and the person you are becoming. Congratulate yourself on taking these first few steps. And then keep going – and keep growing! You’ll be amazed at how small changes over time can lead to big results (physically, emotionally, and spiritually).
