Now Accepting Aetna Commercial Insurance — G&STC

We have some exciting news to share: The Gender & Sexuality Therapy Center is now accepting Aetna commercial insurance for therapy services! 🌈

This is a milestone we’ve been working toward for years, and we’re thrilled to finally be able to expand our in-network offerings to include Aetna. For a long time, we’ve heard from so many of you—clients, community members, and providers alike—about how much of a difference this would make. And we couldn’t agree more.

Why This Matters

We know that therapy should be accessible, not a luxury. Accepting Aetna is one more step in our continued effort to reduce financial barriers and make affirming, specialized care more available to our communities.

Many queer, trans, and nonbinary people—and especially folks with multiple marginalized identities—face a healthcare landscape that’s not always built with them in mind. We’re working to change that. By increasing in-network options, we hope to offer more people the care they deserve in a space that understands and affirms who they are.

What You Need to Know

If you’re insured through Aetna commercial insurance (not Medicaid or Medicare), you may now be eligible to work with a G&STC therapist using your in-network benefits.

We offer remote therapy throughout New York State, and our team includes therapists with a range of lived and professional experience serving LGBTQIA+ folks, people navigating relationships, trauma, identity exploration, and more.

Ready to Get Started?

To schedule an appointment or see if we’re a good fit for your needs, fill out our scheduling form here. Someone from our intake team will reach out shortly to walk you through next steps.

We’re so excited to welcome new clients and continue showing up for our communities. We believe mental health care should be affirming, accessible, and built around you—and we’re grateful to be expanding that mission with Aetna.

With pride and care,
The G&STC Team
