The Inner Heart of Reiki |

When my book The inner heart of Reiki For the first time in 2014, it was a huge success, especially because this kind of book about the Reiki system had never been written before. I wanted to write the book from a traditional Japanese point of view, explaining the essence of Reiki’s system, not just about practical healing. Because when we look deep in the heart of Reiki’s system, we can start to see that it is all about rediscovering our true self.

Mikao Usui, founder of the Reiki system, explained this in his own words in the Shin-Shin Kaizuzen Reiki Ryoho Kokai Denju Setsumei and the usui Reiki Ryoho Hikkei, two booklets distributed by the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai:

Heal usui ryoho only disease?

  1. No. Usui Reiki Ryoho not only heals disease. Spirit disorders such as pain, weakness, embarrassment, irres solution, nervousness and other bad habits can be corrected. Then you are able to live a happy life and cure others with the spirit of Kami or Hotoke [Buddha]. That will be the most important object. “

So we can see that the most important object of the doctrine of Mikao Usui is to live a happy life and to help others with the mentality of Kami or Hotoke. These are just different words for the same: our true self. Kami stands for rediscovering our innate divine being and hotoke is our congenital Buddha -ard. This mentality is also noted in the Reiki regulations:

  • Today
  • Don’t get angry
  • Don’t worry
  • Be grateful
  • Be true to your way and your being
  • Be compassionate for yourself and others

Today here at this current moment, not something we hope for in the future. We must realize that all this, our true self, is now available. We already touch the universe 100% inside and out, but because we always look outside ourselves, we don’t see this. And that is why we don’t believe it either.

To help us with this rediscovery of our true self, Mikao Usui created a complete system that includes the Reiki regulations, meditation practices, symbols and mantras, practical healing and Reiju/coordination/initiation. By practicing this, we can slowly start to see that our inner large bright light, Kami, Buddha -Natuur, here is, right with us and in us today.

The inner heart of Reiki – rediscovering your true self Explains these teachings in simple language, making them easier for the reader and the practitioner to understand. The more we understand the concepts in the teachings intellectually, the easier it is to practice, so that we can have the direct experience that we are Reiki. The more we realize that it is not necessary to ‘channel’ Reiki, but rather that we must get a direct realization that we are Reiki, the more we can take this consciousness in our daily lives.

Mikao Usui explained today; He did not say on a Reiki table or on a meditation cushion, no … he said today. This shows that the Reiki system is much more than practical healing, because we cannot perform hands-on healing for ourselves or others all day. We have to work, drive our car, shop; We have to live our daily lives.

However, we can also shine the great clear light of our true self in every action we take today. This helps us to stay in a place of compassion, as the Reiki regulations point to it: a compassion that does not change according to the circumstances during our daily activities. In this way we can bring our practice into our daily lives. If our practice only stays on a Reiki table or a massage cushion, we only get a small part of the benefits it can offer. And if we see our practice as something that is only done in the ‘Reiki/Meditation room’, it will be difficult to put it in everything we do.

The inner heart of Reiki Dives deep into the Reiki regulations to help readers get a profound understanding why they form the basis of Reiki’s system. It also discusses the idea of mind, body, energy, to help practitioners understand these essential concepts and enable them to bring the Reiki instructions to everything they do.

Many people think that Reiki’s system is only about energy. But we must remember that energy follows the mind and that if we want to bring this practice into our daily lives, we have to stay grounded and to be centered in our body.

The book also discusses the symbols and mantras in detail, because they are also an integral part of the teachings of Mikao Usui. They are not magical symbols or mantras, but his drawing messages for our true self. The more we understand why they are there and how we can use them, the more we can gain that direct experience of our true self.

For example, if we do not understand why these symbols and mantras are there and if we do not know how to use them correctly, then we will not arrive at the place they refer to. If you want to go to Amsterdam, but you don’t know how to get there, or you take the wrong train, then you will never reach your destination, no matter how long you travel.

That’s why Mikao Usui said today. Today we have to understand why we practice Reiki’s system and how to practice it correctly. Then it is also possible to arrive at our destination today, to discover again and to come to our true self.

Mrs. Takata, who played an important role in bringing Reiki’s system to the West, also pointed to the depth of the doctrine of Mikao Usui.

“When John studied Takata, he made more than 20 audio tires of her lectures and lessons. On one of the ties she discusses traveling to Japan to learn her approach from Reiki. While she was there, she met some Japanese citizens who actively practiced and retained Reiki because they understood it in Japan. would scare off and the distribution of Reiki would bump through the world at a time when it was urgently needed. ” – Hand to hand by John Harvey Gray

As we can see, the Reiki system was traditionally very complex, followed years of training and it was closely intertwined with Japanese religious practices. This does not mean that one should become a Buddhist or a shinto practitioner; It means that Mikao Usui has borrowed his teachings from traditional Japanese esoteric practices and traditions.

The inner heart of Reiki – rediscovering your true self You understand the relationship between these traditional esoteric Japanese teachings and the Reiki system. Because of this concept we can go to the heart of our practice, to the heart of our true self. And this is so necessary in our current world, so that we can shine the light of compassion on everything that is.
