Our daily lives are based on our beliefs. These beliefs are not just ours; they are influenced by every aspect of the world we live in and by the norms of society. These types of beliefs involve mental processing, which is always based on the past, not the present moment.
The mind keeps us very busy. It tries to understand the present and future by analyzing past experiences. This limited way of thinking forces us to look back through a rearview mirror and continually judge current experiences against what has already happened. Living this way makes it difficult for new things to enter the mind and for new experiences to refresh us. The present is the only place we truly live; it’s where intuition works.
Here’s something interesting about beliefs: although they may be true for you, they may very well not be true in reality. When something happens in our lives, we often focus on one side of the story or view the event from one perspective. More often than not we choose the ‘negative’ angle. How many times have you wondered if your pain was “something bigger,” or worried that someone had gotten hurt and they didn’t arrive on time? These energies have a major impact on our emotions and our physical health.
Nature also shows us how beliefs can direct attention in positive or negative directions. Many emergency doctors and police officers will share stories of ‘full moon madness’. Whether it’s proven or not, we’ve all heard stories about the effect of the full moon on human behavior. It is clear that the moon is a powerful presence. But does the negative effect we hear and see simply reflect our belief patterns? You choose your reality. Why don’t we explore the other side of the full moon’s influence? Practice saying, “I am the full moon; my light shines from within.”
Faith is a two-way street. The more open we are and ready to receive, the better we are able to tune into positive messages and the wisdom of nature – our best teacher. We process and digest everything we see and hear. It is this role of digestion, this ability to smoothly process visible and invisible things, that is so essential for the healthy functioning of the metabolism. Closed systems do not exist in our reality; energy always goes both ways. It must flow in and out of us.
Universal energy is also a two-way street. God processes Through us. We become one of the ingredients that consumes the intelligence and consciousness of the universe. In turn, our energetic frequencies nourish the Universe’s unconditional love and allow it to expand its creativity. Our appreciation for the beauty of nature fuels unconditional love for the universe. In the same way, the loving frequencies of the universe and nature nourish us. It is possible to consume all that the universe has to offer. After all, you are a child of the universe and were born entitled to all its gifts.
