Whether you’re heading abroad this summer or staying at home – here are some of our most useful products to keep you looking and feeling ‘sunsational’.
Focus Spritz
Do you feel like your energy levels and ability to concentrate have evaporated due to the heat? Still a lot to do before your summer holidays, but do you want to feel calmer and more focused? Try our Focus Spritz with May Chang, Basil, Sweet Marjoram and Sage to get you back on track!
Balance Spritz
Research has shown that on holiday we need an average of two days to relax and unwind. Plus, 90% of us are worried about returning to work and 80% of us actually check and answer emails while we’re away!! If you’re feeling anxious and stressed over the holidays and just can’t switch off, try our soothing Balance Spritz with Neroli, Bergamot, Sweet Orange and Petitgrain. This will help create a sense of peace, harmony and tranquility so you can relax and enjoy some much-needed relaxation.
Sweet Dreams Spritz
Many of us find it difficult to sleep well during the holidays, especially when we first arrive! The ‘first night effect’ has been officially recognized by sleep researchers. They have shown that one half of our brain sleeps only lightly and keeps a ‘night watch’ in case our new environment proves unsafe. Not only do we have difficulty falling asleep, but we also have reduced ‘depth of sleep’ when we finally do fall asleep. If this phenomenon sounds familiar, try our Sweet Dreams Spritz, which is packed with calming, soothing essential oils to lull you into a restful sleep.
Natural clays
We all want our skin to look clear, healthy and radiant, especially in the summer months. Unfortunately, the heat and humidity may have other ideas. If your skin becomes oily and prone to breakouts in hot weather, try a deep-cleansing, oil-balancing face mask with our Ultra Fine French Green Clay. If your skin becomes drier and more sensitive, we recommend a soothing, moisturizing mask with our mild and gentle Kaolin Clay. Visit each product page for some recipe ideas.
Neroli facial oil
Many people shy away from using a facial oil because they think it will make their skin oily, clog pores, or cause breakouts. This is not true! Adding natural oils to your skin can even help balance the skin’s own oils and slow down sebum production if you tend to have oily skin. Our Neroli Facial Oil is suitable for all skin types, including oily and blemish-prone skin, and can help promote a brighter, brighter, more radiant complexion.
Rose facial oil
Our Rose Facial Oil with Geranium and Patchouli is more suitable for mature, dry or sensitive skin. Its antioxidant and regenerative properties nourish and protect against free radical damage and help reduce wrinkles, fine lines and other signs of aging.
Pink Himalayan salt
This highly therapeutic, mineral-rich salt is ideal for summer pampering! Make aromatic bath salts to help you relax and unwind, add it to foot baths and give yourself a pedicure or gently crush the crystals and make an exfoliating body scrub.
For relaxing bath salts, take 500g of Himalayan pink salt (you can grind to a finer consistency if desired – this will also help them dissolve faster). Mix 30 ml of our bath oil or a suitable carrier oil (such as jojoba) with 15 drops of lavender essential oil, 2 rose and 2 benzoin. Pour the blended oils into the salt, mix thoroughly, then store in an airtight container or jar. Sufficient for 2 baths.
Get your body ready for the beach with a detoxifying exfoliating scrub. Mix 3 tablespoons of Ultra Fine Green Clay with 1 tablespoon of finely ground Himalayan Pink Salt. Add 2 teaspoons of dried or fresh lavender flowers (ideal if you have some in the garden), 2 tablespoons of sweet almond oil, 4 drops of lavender essential oil, 3 juniper berries and 2 lemons. Mix everything into a paste and add a little Orange Flower Hydrolate if necessary to loosen it. Massage into the skin with circular movements and then shower for wonderfully smooth skin! Then moisturize if necessary.
Hot, swollen, painful feet? Try a soothing foot soak with ¼ cup of Himalayan pink salt and 2 drops of chamomile, lavender, and peppermint essential oils. Pure luck!
Cocoa butter
Cocoa butter is excellent for moisturizing and nourishing the skin! For a gorgeous summer glow, try our Shiny Cocoa Butter Massage Melts – perfect for highlighting your skin on a special night out. Melt 50 g cocoa butter, 25 g shea butter and 25 g extra virgin coconut butter in a bowl over a pan of simmering water. In a separate bowl, mix a little mica powder (a natural, shiny mineral powder widely available online) with a little bit of melted coconut butter – then add it to your melted butter and mix well. If desired, add up to 30 drops of your favorite essential oils or simply enjoy the subtle scent of the butters. Pour the mixture into a silicone baking mold and place it in the refrigerator to set. When ready to use, massage it into the body, allowing the warmth of your hands to melt the butter into your skin.
Shea butter
Sun and swimming pool chlorine can cause major damage to our beautiful locks. To help combat the damage, treat yourself to a deep hair conditioning mask to nourish and repair dry, frizzy hair. Add 2 tablespoons of melted Shea Butter, 2 tablespoons of Jojoba, 1 ripe banana, 1 tablespoon of honey, 6 tablespoons of Blackcurrant Seed Oil, 6 drops of Ylang Ylang and 4 Geranium to a food processor and blend together. Massage the mixture into the hair and scalp – making sure to cover hair from roots to ends. Leave on for at least 20 minutes and then wash off with shampoo. Make sure you apply shampoo to your hair before adding water as this will help remove the oils.
Hand soap for gardeners
If your summer involves spending a lot of time in the garden, you’ll need a bar of Gardener’s Hand Soap. This 100% natural soap is ideal for cleaning and protecting hardworking hands. It’s infused with Cornmeal to gently scrub away deep-seated dirt, Shea Butter to soothe and nourish skin, and pure Lemongrass, May Chang, and Patchouli essential oils to cleanse and soothe cuts, cracks, and scrapes! No gardener should be without it!!
