Ingredients:
- 2 (15 oz) cans Garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained
- 3 tablespoons tahini (sesame seed paste)
- 4 cloves of garlic
- Juice of 2 lemons
- 4 tablespoons of olive oil
- ½ cup water – add if necessary
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Directions:
- Place the drained garbanzo beans, tahini, garlic, lemon juice and oil in the bowl of a food processor or blender. Chop or blend until smooth and add enough water to achieve a creamy dip.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Transfer to a serving bowl.
- It can be served immediately, but it will be tastier if left in the refrigerator overnight.
- Remove from the refrigerator 1 hour before serving.
- Serve with pita bread.
