Fighting off the Common Cold and Flu |

The winter will be here soon. You can feel the cold in the air and the cold wind. This is also the time for cold and flu. Your nose is filled, throat hurts and you can’t taste your favorite food. Cold cold is definitely one of the most annoying conditions. Cold is an infection of the upper respiratory tract caused virus that influences the throat, sinus and nose. The symptoms are runny nose, fever, sore throat, headache and coughing. The symptoms start two days after the infection and the normal recovery time is approximately seven to ten days. Because the cold is a viral infection, it cannot be cured. However, there are various home remedies that help alleviate the signs and symptoms of the cold.

Here is a list of some of the best home remedies to combat the annoying cold.

1. Steam it out

One of the best remedies to open that stuffy nose is steam. You can use a facial steam boat or simply breathe in the steam from a pot of hot water.

Direction: Fill a bowl with boiling water, keep your head above it and breathe slowly through your nose. You can also drape a towel over your head to hold the steam. Be careful while you do this. You can also add a few drops of essential oil such as eucalyptus oil or tea tree oil to the hot water to make it more effective. The essential oil, which is worn through the steam, will help to relieve the stuffy nose and to release congestion.

2. Drink ginger tea

You will find ginger in many home remedies. Ginger is a miracle food and heals many ailments from stomach complaints to one a sore throat To headache. For a sore throat you boil a cup of water and add a few slices of ginger. Drink this decoction.

Route description: You need a cup of water and few ginger slices. Boil the water and add the ginger slices. Let it be steep. Drink this leading hot liquid. You can also add some cinnamon and honey to make it delicious. This will help to calm a sore throat and to ward off the feeling of nausea. Drink the liquid two to three times a day.

3. Onion and honey

Yes, onion is a great remedy for sore throat and cough. It has anti -inflammatory and antibacterial properties and helps to release mucus in the chest. Honey is also good for calming irritated throat.

Route description: You need 1 red onion or a few shallots, 1 cup of honey or 1/2 cup of white or brown sugar. You also need a pot. Chop the onion/shallots and place them in a pot. Add a layer of honey or cover it with a layer of sugar. Repeat this to get alternative layers of onion and honey. Close the pot tightly when you reach the top. Leave this pot for about 12 hours or at night, after which you will find liquid in the pot. This liquid is perhaps the best home remedy for a cough. Drink a teaspoon of liquid to stop your cough.

4. Garlic

Another great remedy for a scratching throat. It will calm your sore throat and give you temporary relief.

Route description: You need 1 medium -sized garlic, 1 teaspoon of honey, 1 lemon and hot water. Crush the garlic and put it in a glass. Now add lemon juice and honey. Then fill the glass with warm water. Drink this solution.

5. Vitamin C

Eat fruit and vegetables rich in vitamin C to combat the symptoms and signs of cold. According to a study, consuming sufficient amount of vitamin C can help cure the upper respiratory tract infection.

Direction: you can eat grapefruit, oranges, lime. Or drink lemon tea with honey or hot lemonade. Vitamin C will help your immune system to combat the infection.

6. Eat radish

Radijs is an excellent home remedy for cold. Rich in vitamins and minerals, the fresh vegetable has anti-septic properties. The vegetable is a good decongestivum and will loosen the mucus. Eat two to three radishes for a quick recovery of a cold.

Direction: You only need 2-3 radishes. Eat the vegetables and say goodbye to your cold.
