Grilled Salmon With Mango Salsa

This grilled salmon with mango salsa is a tasty, healthy and colorful dish that is perfect for any occasion! The recipe is easy to prepare, healthy and full of bright, summery flavors, making it ideal for a light dinner or an impressive meal for guests.

Selection Salmon to Grill

There are many different types of salmon that are great for cooking, each with its own unique flavor profile and texture. From the rich, buttery flavor of chinook salmon to the mild, delicate flavor of coho salmon, there is a salmon variety for every taste and cooking preference. When selecting salmon for cooking, it is important to choose high-quality, sustainable options that have been responsibly sourced. This is how you make grilled salmon with mango salsa

Ingredients:

For the salmon:

  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges (for serving)

For the mango salsa:

  • 1 ripe mango, peeled and diced
  • 1 small red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and finely chopped
  • ½ red pepper, diced
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Directions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Brush the salmon fillets with olive oil and season them on both sides with cumin, paprika powder, salt and pepper.
  3. Place the salmon fillets on the grill, skin side down, and grill for about 4-5 minutes per side, until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  4. While the salmon is grilling, prepare the mango salsa. In a medium bowl, combine the diced mango, red onion, jalapeño, red pepper, cilantro, lime juice and a pinch of salt and pepper. Toss to combine.
  5. Once the salmon is cooked, remove it from the grill and serve with a generous spoonful of mango salsa on top.
  6. Serve with lime wedges on the side for an extra burst of citrus flavor.
