After the new year ends, and as we get closer to spring, we may long for a rebirth. A rebirth takes place on 3 levels: physical, mental and energetic.
As a woman who has been and will continue to be many different versions of myself, I have had many opportunities to witness my own rebirth. What I’ve learned is this: when I make changes that improve my physical well-being, my mental well-being improves with it and my energy radiates as a result.
A cleanse is a grounded approach to making positive changes throughout your experience. As we improve the functionality of our organs, we improve every body system. Removing gunk from the body is like removing darkness from the soul and negative thoughts from the mind. It’s all connected! Nature always takes care of it, so of course nature has blessed us with so many herbs that work well and communicate with our bodies as if they were made for that.
Here are my favorite herbs for a well-rounded and effective cleanse and reset:
- Milk thistle: Guardian of the liver – Milk thistle supports optimal liver function and is rich in a substance called silymarin. It helps protect our liver cells from damage that can occur from alcohol, diet and environmental toxins. Most will also notice brighter skin when they take milk thistle, because when your liver is doing its job, your skin doesn’t have to sag!
- Dandelion: Detoxifying Duality – This bright and yellow flower is considered a lawn nuisance, but in the eyes of an herbalist, it’s worth its weight in gold! Dandelion is gentle, versatile and can be consumed in many creative ways. The root supports liver and kidney function and helps flush excess fluid from the body. You can drink it as a tea, take it as a tincture and you can add dandelion greens to smoothies or meals.
- Turmeric: The Golden Elixir – Most turn to turmeric for a healthier inflammatory response to sore joints, but did you know how supportive this root is for cleansing the body? When organs are inflamed, they cannot function optimally and become sluggish. Turmeric brings light to the situation and clears the way for toxins.
- Schisandra: The Superhero – This berry is special. Being salty, sweet, bitter, pungent and sour, it has an affinity with various body systems and supports all health. Schisandra stands out during a cleanse because it supports liver metabolism. It also supports stable energy, a healthy stress response and healthy skin.
- Nettle: the refresher – Nettle is less cleaner and more rejuvenating! While the former herbs help you cleanse, this herb replenishes you with nutrients and minerals. It also contains chlorophyll which supports energy and vitality. Adding a dose of nettle tincture to a glass or bottle of water with a squeeze of lime, a touch of honey and a pinch of sea salt is like the “Gatorade!” from nature.
These herbs can be used individually, or in combination with each other to create a versatile and multi-talented team. Deep Cleanse combines all of these herbs, along with some other cleansing supporting botanicals to help you rejuvenate, cleanse and become your best self!
By combining these herbs with a healthy diet and plenty of hydration, you can cleanse your body without disrupting your life. With each dedicated day you will notice your mood becoming sunnier and your energy becoming lighter. Let the rebirth begin!
