Hello Charis, can you tell us a little about yourself and how you got into natural products?
I enjoy an active life as a three-time Nationally Ranked Athlete, Third Ranked Brown Belt in Jujitsu, Certified FirstLine Therapy Lifestyle Educator/Health Coach in Western/Functional/Natural Medicine, and Certified Endurance Strength/Conditioning Coach. As far as natural products go, I can honestly say that I have always been drawn to the energies of our beautiful Earth, starting with a fascination with rocks and trees, then moving into metaphysical science with crystals, medicinal herbs/teas /essential oils, and then to delve deeper into tuning our body’s well-being with even more natural products – ‘medicines of the earth and the sea’, I lovingly call them. I am now expanding my knowledge further to more strengthening herbal medicine and homeopathy.
WishGarden has started an Ambassador Program that you are a part of – and you are the recipient of this month’s Ambassador of the Month Award. How is the ambassador work going?
The WishGarden Ambassadorship has been such a wonderful blessing of synchronicity for my women’s group on Facebook, BUILD A TRIBEfor my own continued well-being, and for the opportunities to teach and share the power of these herbal formulas with loved ones – or with whomever I interact with professionally or personally. There seems to be a growing intelligence and curiosity among people about the molecular and healing properties of plants. The WishGarden ambassadorship offers me a deeper level of support and a more important platform to explore this, which I experience every day.
Are you active on social media channels? Which do you find most effective for spreading ‘herbal news’?
I am certainly active on social media channels and find that spreading plant-based, healthy news seems to be the most effective and is responded to via LinkedIn and Instagram.
Natural products seem to be all the rage these days. Do you think we are witnessing a change in consumer attitudes towards the environment and natural products?
It certainly seems like we are witnessing a change in consumer attitudes towards the environment and natural products. While many people I health coach with approach these topics from a fear-based, somewhat resistant mindset, my heart grows fuller with joy as I see more people find a deeper care and love for their own livelihood, coupled with our amazing environment . and the natural products it provides us. We are an important part of the environment and nature, all made up of the same magical elements!
What is your favorite herb and why?
In recent years, my favorite herbs have been those that support one of our most important organs: the liver. Hibiscus is my first choice. That said, my old favorite is a vining plant: jasmine. Soaking/consuming these buds helps our body produce endorphins. I call it my ‘happy tea’.
Do you have a favorite WishGarden product?
My favorite WishGarden product? You know, Liquid Bliss is MY JAM!
