Hello Anna, Can you tell us something about yourself and how you got involved in Wishgarden -herbs? It would have been difficult not to be involved with Wishgarden -herbs, since it was started in my basement and I was the subject for which many of the formulas were created. Yes, I was the child with the weird -smelling house and a spice wizard for a mother. My mother, Catherine Hunziker, bought Wishgarden Herbs in 1987 when it was only a cupboard full of midwifery formulas. Since then she has brought Wishgarden to the retail world and exponentially expanded his formula line.
Apart from the incidental after -school and summer work, I only started working at Wishgarden until about five years ago. After having chased the sun around the world for ten years in places such as Florida, San Diego, Santiago, Chile and Barcelona, I decided to return to my roots in Boulder, Colorado and to work for Wishgarden. It has been a great experience so far and I feel so blessed to work here with all the great people here at Wishgarden Herbs.
Wishgarden has just started an ambassador program that you manage. What are the goals for the program? Wishgarden has won a lot of his success over the years. As a small, independent company, we never really had the budget to do advertisements, so this was the key for us. Knowing that there were people who were passionate about Wishgarden and who talked about us with their community, we thought it would be a good idea to support these Wishgarden fans with a brand ambassador program.
The Ambassador program brand is based on the idea that super fans are being identified and rewarded. Merkambassadeurs receive free Wishgarden product for their personal use and also samples, coupons, literature, seed packages and more to share with their community. The hope is that more and more people will be exposed to how great our products are through Wishgarden Brand Ambassadors and that the world-to-mouth advertising that we are dependent on, will become even bigger and stronger for so long.
In addition to the Ambassador program, you are also the field support coordinator at Wishgarden. What does this position entail? This is a kind of catch-all title. Working in a small family company, I do just about what my mother, brother and other colleagues need me to do, but there are a few consistent tasks. I manage our demo program, events, donations, sample requests and help our sales team support in and out of the house. I also do our product photography.
Natural products nowadays seem to be an anger. Does Wishgarden find this renewed interest in profit in natural and organic products? Wishgarden has certainly benefited from this renewed interest. Because it has been around since 1979, it is great to see the interest in natural products evolve from only the crispy, hippie granola scene and more go to the mainstream. Nowadays I am always pleasantly surprised by the diversity of people who are interested in Wishgarden herbs. For example, we had a great success at a recent event in Belton, Texas, where many other cabins presented cattle and feed. I am sure this would not be the case 10 years ago. It is really inspiring to see that people from all over the country, regardless of the background, are starting to see the health benefits that can have natural and organic products on their lives.
Wishgarden is known for its great product names and for his blends. Can you comment on that? Wishgarden was the first tincture company that sold herbs melanges as formulas with nice names. Back in the 80s and 90s, the other liquid herbal companies mainly sold a few herb stinctures. Having these in advance mixed formulas with nice names that people could prescribe themselves without having a herb background, really gave us an advantage to go in the “2000S and in the natural product Renaissance. With names like Kick-ass Allergy, a” mainstreamer “who has decided to start shopping at a natural lifestyle.
What is your favorite herb and why? My favorite herb is perhaps a passion flower. If you’ve never seen one, you have to look it up. It looks like a beautiful alien flower from another country. Medicinal you can use the leaves and stems as sleeping aid to help with nervous stress and nervous health. We use it in our sleepy nights, emotional ally and more serious more relaxes, which you can undoubtedly find at all times on my desk and my night standards. Also important, the passion fruit that comes from this plant has a very sharp but sweet taste. It is called Maracuya in Spanish, it is used in one of my favorite drinks in Chile, the Maracuya Sour.
