Benefits of Therapeutic BreathWork

Therapeutic Breathwork is more than just your daily breathing or breathing a little deeper; it is a sequence of different breathing techniques and breath holds, guided by a facilitator, who holds space and takes you along on the journey. The different styles of this type of therapeutic breathwork also vary. The style I use to help you create change emotionally and physically is to engage your system in both the sympathetic and parasmpathic nervous systems. This allows you to safely release old emotions that are stuck in the somatics, experience fuller and wider breathing as soon as you leave the session and experience a feeling of relaxation. As well as a host of other benefits listed below.

Breathwork offers numerous benefits for physical, mental and emotional well-being. Some of the main benefits are:

1. Reduced stress and anxiety: Breathwork helps activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which promotes relaxation and reduces stress and anxiety levels.

2. Improved emotional health: Focusing on breathing techniques allows individuals to release repressed emotions and trauma, leading to better emotional balance and resilience.

3. Improved mental clarity: Regular breathing exercises can improve focus, concentration and overall mental clarity, allowing individuals to think more clearly and make better decisions.

4. Increased energy levels: Good breathing techniques can increase oxygen intake and improve energy levels, making you feel more alive and awake.

5. Better sleep quality: Breathwork can help regulate the sleep cycle and improve sleep quality, leading to better rest and recovery.

6. Strengthened immune system: By reducing stress and promoting relaxation, breathwork can strengthen the immune system, making the body more resistant to disease.

7. Pain relief: Breathwork can help manage and reduce chronic pain by promoting relaxation and reducing muscle tension.

8. Improved respiratory function: Practicing breathing exercises can improve lung capacity and efficiency, leading to better respiratory health and more effective oxygenation of the body.

9. Emotional release: Breathwork allows the release of pent-up emotions and unresolved trauma, leading to a sense of emotional release and well-being.

10. Improved self-awareness: Breathwork encourages mindfulness and self-awareness, helping individuals become more attuned to their thoughts, feelings and physical sensations.

11. Improved cardiovascular health: Regular breathing exercises can lower blood pressure and improve heart rate variability, contributing to better cardiovascular health.

12. A greater sense of connection: Breathwork can promote a sense of connection with oneself and others, promoting feelings of unity and connection.

1 on 1 private breathing sessions are available in clinic or on zoom.

Group session available – check workshop/event for next session.
