To make the perfect Chamomile Lavender Latte, you’ll need a few simple ingredients and tools:

  • 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy, your choice)
  • ½ tablespoon dried chamomile buds or 1 bag of chamomile tea
  • 1 heaping teaspoon of dried culinary lavender
  • 1-2 teaspoons honey, maple syrup or sweetener of your choice
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract

Step-by-step preparation guide

This is how I make my Chamomile Lavender Latte step by step:

  1. Heat the milk: Start by pouring the milk into a small saucepan. Heat it over medium heat until hot but not boiling.
  2. Add chamomile and lavender: Once the milk has heated, add the dried chamomile or tea bag and dried lavender. Let them steep in the hot milk for about 5-7 minutes. This allows the flavors to absorb nicely.
  3. Strain the milk: After steeping, remove the tea bag and herbs and strain the milk through a fine-mesh sieve to catch the lavender pieces.
  4. Sweet and taste: Return the milk to the pan and add honey (or a sweetener of your choice) and vanilla extract. Stir well to combine.
  5. Froth the milk: Use a whisk or milk frother to froth the milk until it is creamy and slightly frothy.
  6. Serve: Pour the frothy, fragrant milk into your favorite mug. For a nice finishing touch, you can sprinkle a few lavender buds on top.
