Introduction: The Inner Journey
Finding moments of silence can feel like a real challenge in stressful daily life. However, we all have the potential to experience deep relaxation easy and easy to experience with a completely natural method, so that we can reflect, repair and charge our batteries.
In this blog we investigate with neuroscientist Dr. Svend Davanger The core principles of Acem meditation, its benefits and how inner sound can become a bridge to self-discovery, personal growth and in-depth calmness.
What is Acem meditation?
“Acem -meditation is a non -directing technique in which a simple, neutral meditation sound is effortlessly repeated with a free mental posture.
Unlike many traditional forms of meditation that focus on concentration or mindfulness, Acem encourages the mind to freely wander alongside the soft repetition of sound, allowing unconscious thoughts and emotions to influence meditation.
“This approach improves relaxation, emotional processing and self -awareness without requiring strict focus or discipline.” ~ Dr Svend Davanger
What is sound meditation and its benefits
It is scientifically proven that sound meditation offers a wealth of benefits for both mental and emotional well -being.
Study have shown that the calming effects of the sound can help to lower stress, lower blood pressure and improve the overall focus and concentration. When we tailor ourselves to specific healing frequencies, relax our brains, releasing tension and inviting a deeper feeling of calmness (Tamara L. Goldsby, 2016).
What are the most important advantages of the “inner sound” meditation of Acem with regard to stress and anxiety reduction, emotional processing and personal growth?
“It has been shown that Acem meditation will leave stress and fear by reducing physiological arousal and increasing emotional resilience.
The effortless mental attitude ensures that unconscious thoughts and emotions are gradually and carefully processed, leading to deeper emotional processing and integration. In the course of time, practitioners report more self -consciousness, increased inner safety and trust and improved personal growth, because meditation facilitates psychological insight and emotional flexibility. ~ Dr Svend Davanger
How sound works: the healing power of vibrations
The core of sound meditations lies the science of vibrations.
Every sound we hear is a wave of energy that has interaction with our body and mind. When we listen to calming sounds or specific frequencies, these vibrations create a wrinkle effect in our nervous system, which encourages relaxation and healing.
So let’s dive deeper into the core concepts of Acem meditation with Dr. Svend Davanger to learn more!
How does the general repetition of a meditation noise with a free mental posture encourage the relaxation response and the standard mode network?
“The difficult repetition of the meditation noise enables the autonomic nervous system to shift to a parasympathetic state, promote deep relaxation and reduce stress. At the same time, the standard mode network (DMN), a brain network that is associated with self -referential thinking and ghosting, becomes more active in a spontaneous but regulated way, promoting emotional processing and integration.
This double effect helps the brain to restore stress, while mental flexibility is improved. ”
Can you outline a few core concepts of the relaxation response and the standard mode network and reference science studies that are relevant to Acem meditation?
“The relaxation response (Benson, The Relaxation Response, 1974) describes a physiological shift that prevents stress and lowers the heartbeat, blood pressure and cortisol levels.
The standard mode network (DMN), identified via FMRI investigations (Raichle, the standard mode network of the brain, 2015), is active during introspective and self-referential thinking.
Research into non-activating meditation (XU & davanger, non-activating meditation activates the standard mode network …, 2014) suggests that Acem meditation improves DMN activity more than meditation of targeted attention, supportive relaxation and emotional processing. ”
Can you share a personal story or testimony of a practitioner who has experienced transforming results with Acem meditation?
“One practitioner, a social worker who learned Acem meditation in 2018, remembers a lot of stress and requirements from outside, so her cousin advised Acem meditation.
He spoke about how meaningful it was for him and how much a coping strategy it was, so that he could generally deal with life. She became curious and signed up for the course of a beginner!
She felt a great relief, only had to sit there and repeat the sound as softly as possible. She could not imagine that all this could be what was in it! She now experiences much more consciously and in contact with her feelings and needs every day.
Meditation is the first thing she does in the morning, so she starts the day with more energy. She feels that she is more sensitive and able to deal with stressful situations. Sometimes she realizes that she can see many more options in most situations! ”
What tips or techniques do you recommend to include Acem meditation in daily practice for beginners?
“Beginners have to set aside for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day in a quiet, comfortable space, so that the meditation sound can effortlessly repeat without trying to control thoughts.
Take a relaxed, accepting attitude – wandering thoughts are natural and part of the process. Consistency is the key, so integrating meditation in existing routines (for example morning or evening training) helps to build up a sustainable habit. ”
How do you see the future of Acem meditation evolving, especially with the growing popularity of sound healing, sound baths and audible sound meditation?
“With increasing interest in sound-based meditative practices, Acem meditation stands out as a scientifically informed, psychologically nuanced approach to inner exploration.
While sound baths And the focus of the audible sound healing on external sensory input, the inner sound method of ACEM offers a more individualized, deep processing experience that can rely on those looking for psychological and cognitive long -term benefits. Future research and digital platforms can expand its reach to a new audience. ”
What advice would you give someone who is looking for a journey of self-discovery through acem meditation?
“Approach acememeditation with curiosity and patience, so that thoughts and emotions can come without judgment.” ~ Dr Svend Davanger
