The herb bath: a gift for mind and body
One of the best and most pleasant methods for stress reduction is the use of herbal tea in the bath. It is not only relaxing, it is also surprisingly therapeutic. Herbal baths are the most important treatment for children who are wired by all excitement on vacation. The famous French herbalist Maurice Messegue (circa 1940) delivered all his herbal therapies through hand and foot baths, with good success. If you don’t have a bathtub, you can still enjoy relaxing benefits by using the all-forgotten foot bath. All you need is a basin that is large enough for your feet, such as a dishwashing bath. The same tea formula can be used for the foot bath and the same instructions apply.
This blend also makes a delicious herbal tea with relaxing benefits. Use a hanging teaspoon of the spice mixture per cup of hot water; Steep for 5-10 minutes and enjoy it while you are in the bath for extra relaxation, or at the end of a busy day of holiday activities.
