Morning sickness can range from mild, occasional or persistent. Sometimes it lasts a few weeks and sometimes the entire pregnancy.
It is estimated that 80% of women experience some form of morning sickness, while 50% experience both nausea and vomiting.
Homeopathy is here to help. Did you know that homeopathy is safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding? Homeopathy supports the whole person, meaning it supports the patient as a person, and not the disease or its symptoms. Mental and emotional symptoms are taken into account, as well as predispositions (miasms). Below I have mentioned some remedies with common images that are commonly prescribed for morning sickness. However, it is recommended to get a complete picture and select the right remedy.
Ipecac – One of the most commonly used remedies for morning sickness. Substantive nausea that doesn’t seem to stop. May vomit, but not always, but nausea does not feel better with vomiting. There may be a mild cough with nausea and vomiting. Better for firm pressure and rest. Dislike of the smell of food.
Arsenic – Cannot tolerate the sight or smell of food, nausea with vomiting. You feel restless, anxious and quickly exhausted. Better for the heat. Worse at night or with cold food.
Nux Vomica– Nausea with vomiting, but feeling better after vomiting. May feel angry or depressed. Come on after dinner. Tight feeling in the abdomen. Headache with vomiting may be present. Severe vomiting. May also have constipation.
Sepia -They need pickles and sour foods. Nausea in the morning before eating. Often see these in women who are constitutionally sepia. I may have had trouble getting pregnant. Nausea worse lying on side. Heavy feeling in the abdomen. Constipation during pregnancy. more vomiting in the morning
These are just a few of the many options available
