Looking for a delicious, healthy sweet treat to always have to hand? Give this easy to make long -term fruit cocktail salad! A combination of citrus fruits with the addition of grapes will last up to a week in your fridge. Make a party from the fruit salad on weekends and enjoy it all week when you crave a low calorie sessert!
- Grapes – Choose seedless grapes and cut large in two.
- Oranges – Use ejaium mandarin oranges, such as clementines. Plain mandarins also work.
- Pineapple – Fresh fruit or canned pineapple facts or chunks are good in this salad.
How to make a fruit cocktail salad
Ingredients:
- 1 melon
- 2 Mangos
- 2 grapefruits
- 4 oranges
- 2 cups of grapes
- 1 pineapple cut into chunks
- 2 cups of strawberries
- 2 cups of orange juice
Inststructions
- Prepare the fruit by first rinsing.
- Cut the pineapple and remove the core and the skin. Then cut fruit in chunks of 1 inch.
- Cut the melon in two and remove seeds. Cut the shoulder off melon and then cut fruit into chunks of 1 inch.
- Peel mango and then cut it into 1 inch chunks.
- Peel the citrus fruits and remove the white skin from the fruit. Remove the segment using a very sharp knife by passing the knife on each side of the fruit membrane.
- Cut the grapes in two.
- Cut the stems from the strawberries and cut in two
- Place all the fruit in a large bowl.
- Pour the orange juice on fruit and mix gently.
- Cover and cool down to eat.
Option: Add cut banana before serving.
Storage
This salad stays well covered in the fridge for two or three days. However, if there is banana in the leftovers, the salad is still quite edible. The banana may be a bit soft, that’s why I like cutting and adding to every portion.
