Every morning we have the opportunity to innovate. We wake up to fresh morning skies and new potential. It’s up to us to make the best of it. For many of us, this is where our mindset begins and ends. We see potential and opportunity in what is right in front of us. But what about the bigger picture of life?
This bigger picture includes all life – from tiny microbes to the swirling cosmos. And you play a big role in that photo. As part of nature’s design, humans, along with other living things, must follow nature’s rules. Place yourself in the patterns and time of nature, instead of looking solely at your own time and patterns.
Take New Year’s Eve for example. As a new year dawns, people celebrate. Many flock to Times Square in New York or other central places around the world. During our celebrations, we leave the past year behind and welcome the potential of the year to come. But look again at Nature. Everything is quiet. These creatures rest and gather energy in preparation for spring. They wait for nature’s time to change. And when that time comes, life celebrates by dancing with nature.
Nature’s time is like a train that neither stops nor departs. It just comes. You have to get on board. But if you’re too busy, you’ll miss it. Everything in our body – down to our cells – knows when nature’s time has come. Our bodies – like everything else in the natural world – are ready to jump on board, but our minds hold us back. Change your beliefs. Be humble. Align your mind with the spirit of nature.
Every morning when we wake up to that fresh new sunrise, we make a choice. Do we follow human rules or natural rules? Human rules are imposed on us by societal constraints – think responsibilities, bus schedules, deadlines, football matches and even the calendar itself. But the rules of nature have natural cycles and consciousness.
We are almost ready to start a new year. But if we look beyond the human calendar, we see that 2024 is also a new beginning in Nature’s time. February 10, 2024 marks the beginning of the Lunar New Year with the Year of the Wooden Dragon. The Dragon symbolizes luck, power, strength and success – not a bad symbol for the coming year.
So enjoy the days ahead – the last of 2023. And as your celebrations come to an end and you begin to look ahead to 2024, observe everything around you. Notice how quiet and soothing nature is in winter. Feel the peace and tranquility of nature. Bring that peace inside. Let nature be your guide and your teacher.
Your train is coming. Be ready. Hop on.
