If you want to include more quinoa in your diet because it has a high nutritional value and is affordable, there are a few ideas here. Many people are not looking for quinoa and will choose most other grains when searching for new recipes to try.
Is quinoa gluten -free?
Yes, quinoa is naturally gluten -free. However, cross -contamination can occur, so you still have to be looking for certified gluten -free quinoa if you have an intolerance.
Rainbow Quinoa Bowl
For this specific salad I wanted to do a rainbow of different products with my quinoa, hence the name Rainbow Quinoa Bowl.
How to make Rainbow Quinoa Bowl
Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup Bob’s Red Mill Organic Tricolor Quinoa
- 1/2 Hop pomegranate arils
- 1/2 cup of julienne cut carrots
- 4 us 1/2 inch thick roasted delicata -pumpkin
- 4 our halved roasted sprouts
- 3 large purple kale leaves, torn in bite -sized pieces
- 1/2 of a honeycrisp apple, cut
Dressing ingredients
- 2 eateries balsamic vinegar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Pure maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon of Dijon Mosterd
- 1 small shallot, cut in chunks
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Route description:
For the dressing
- Place all ingredients in a small food processor and pulsate to the combination and the shallot is chopped.
- Set aside.
For the salad
- Cook the quinoa according to the package instructions using vegetable broth for the cooking fluid for extra taste if desired.
- In two low and flat bowls, control the salad ingredients in separate sections and ensure that the quantities share between the two bowls.
- Start with the quinoa and then work in a clockwise around the bowl with pomegranate arils, julienne sliced carrots, roasted deli -pumpkin, roasted sprouts and purple kale leaves.
- Then spread the apple slices on top.
- Serve with the prepared dressing on the side to sprinkle on top according to your personal preferences.
Coconut
Quinoa already has a somewhat nutty taste, so cooking in coconut milk reinforces the usefulness and makes it so much more interesting and tastier than regular old quinoa. It also plays perfectly with the Asian inspired marinade with sesame oil, soy sauce, ginger and lime.
How to make coconut quinoa
Ingredients:

- 1 & 1/2 cups of quinoa (uncooked)
- 1 15-oz can of coconut milk (unsweetened)
- 1 cup of water
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
Route description:
- Combine the quinoa, coconut milk, water and salt in a medium -sized pot.
- Bring the mixture to the boil, lower the heat, cover, cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes, until all liquid is absorbed and the quinoa is soft.
