What is magnesium?
Magnesium is often called the ‘Wonder Mineral’, and for a good reason – it is involved in more 300 Biochemical processes In the body. From supporting energy production to regulating nerves, muscles and even your heart rhythm, magnesium is essential to stay healthy and to function at your best. But despite its importance, many people are poor without realizing it.
So why are we so short? A combination of modern diets, exhausted soil quality and stress are the culprit. Processed foods strip Natural magnesium, and even the fresh products that we eat today contains less magnesium than tens of years ago due to industrial agricultural practices. To finish it, caffeine, alcohol and stress can all further exhaust the magnesium levels, making a shortage incredibly common.
This is another reason why I am so focused on growing my own food. By cultivating fruit, vegetables and herbs in my garden, I can ensure that they are grown in nutrient -rich soil, free from the synthetic fertilizers and pesticides that often rid essential minerals. It is another way to take over control over my health while I am in contact with nature and enjoying the satisfaction of a sustainable lifestyle from home.
