Everything is energy. It is in the wind that swirl around us, in the fire that heats us, and in all living things – large and small – that walk, swim and fly around our planet. The tricky one in energy is, you can’t see it. Energy is invisible.
But energy is what maintains and builds us. It is what makes our emotions swirl and racing our hearts. It is within every part of our being.
If you get furious and angry – that is energy.
If you dance to the rhythm of your internal music – that is energy.
When you hug a friend or loved one and feel pulled to stay in the embrace for a few seconds – that is energy.
When a button starts to unravel and a green tomato starts to get its red tint – that is energy.
Energy is everything and everything is energy. Without this there would be no you and no, no plants, no trees, no sun, no moon and no stars.
But we live in a world where we do not recognize ourselves as energy scenes. We go on our paths, day after day, to feel, see and experience all the energy around us. We continue to take and do not take the time to leave. We bomb our body with processed foods and sugars, sad and sometimes horrible news stories and stress – much of it.
Stress is almost a keyword in our society, as recognizable as the word human. And although some stress is manageable and realistically part of daily life, excess stress can feel overwhelmed. We all feel stress, sadness, fear and fear. But if we have no way to let those emotions out, they will continue to grow. And that is when the invisible energy of those emotions becomes visible and tangible. We can see it in heart palpitations, acne, mood swings, depression or even as tumors.
Meridians
Energy travels along your body in paths called meridians. If those meridians are blocked, energy will no longer have to deal with. So it sits and stagnates, and ultimately becomes invisibly visible.
However, energy also has the power – the incredible power – to heal. By letting that invisible energy flow and by moving your meridians, it helps to stay invisible. It is what our body helps to stay healthy. It is also what encourages us to heal as soon as we have pushed ourselves a bit too far.
In the words of Grand Master Lu: “All healing is done at an invisible level. We must use invisible power to access this level. Energy is this power.”
Qi is another word for energy. But it is even more – it is the life force that you support. Qigong is a healing energy exercise, intended to open those meridians so that your energy can flow freely.
A powerful Qigong movement is The dragon stands between heaven and the earth. Stay with your knees somewhat bent, arms in front of you, with hands in soft fists and thumbs that point towards each other. Close your eyes and let everything melt slowly. Hold this position as long as possible, imagine your invisible energy in you and flows freely through your meridians.
